Sound Check Spotlights South African Singer and Songwriter, Shekhinah

South African-born and based singer and songwriter, Shekinah is on the spotlights of Africa’s entertainment program – Sound Check. Shekhinah Thandi Donnel (which is her birth name) is from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. She was among the top 32 SA idols in the M-Net’s season 7 in 2011 as well as the top six of the season 8 of SA idols in 2012.

Shekhinah released her lead single titled “Suited”, in the year 2017, which rose to number one on the South African Music Charts and was certified with a diamond plaque by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA). “Different” and “Please Mr.” were released in the year 2018, while “Please Mr.” was certified with gold in the same year. The South African R&B singer has consistently churned out inspiring music and is one of the African singers that takes African music to the global stage of excellence.
